Snapshot: For us this is one of the best short itineraries in Africa, giving a nice break in Cape Town and a fixed of top quality safari in the Kruger’s Sabi Sands concession. All this is at a great price for the standard of the properties and experience.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Cape Town
Arriving at Cape Town airport you will be met and transferred to Kensington Place a hotel in the heart of the cities soul. This is a great choice for those that like small contemporary and boutique properties and also enjoy getting involved in the local restaurant and bar scene. You have 4 nights here to explore the city.
Day 2 to 4 – Cape Town
This central location means that everything is on your doorstep but why not hire a car or book some excursions to explore the city and all of its surrounds. Take a day to explore the cities beach or the pedestrianised waterfront or even go further afield to Hermanus to see if you can spot any Whales from the shore.
Day 5 – Sabi Sands, Kruger
Today you will be transferred back to the airport for your flight directly to Skukuza in the Kruger. From the airport you will be transferred to the Sabi Sands, the most famous of the private concessions that boarder the Kruger National Park. You will stay at Chitwa Chitwa, a fantastic family owned and run property for the next 3 nights on an inclusive basis.
Day 6 to 7 – Sabi Sands, Kruger
The safari in this part of the greater Kruger is possibly the best in the whole country, the Sabi Sands itself is well known for producing fantastic wildlife sightings and Chitwa Chitwa sits on possibly the best piece of land. We love that this small property has such ties with its concession and such a commitment to the preservation of the wildlife within it. We also love that it is great value for a property that includes your own plunge pool!
Day 8
Today it is time to head home, you will be transferred back to Skukuza airport for your flight to Johannesburg where you will connect with your onward arrangements.

- Winelands – If you like a nice glass of wine and some stunning scenery then the Winelands offers a fantastic element to add to this South African itinerary, Franschhoek is a lovely little town and one of our top picks.
- Beach – For a truly chilled out end to your trip why not add a stay on the beach. Flying back through Johannesburg opens up a number of destinations including Mozambique, the Seychelles and Mauritius.
