Khwai Tented Camp located on a semi-permanent site within this community-run concession on the eastern border of the Moremi Game reserve, on the banks of a lagoon flowing into the Khwai river, acts as a boundary between the reserve and the community area, offering visitors staying here several unique ways to experience Africa. This is one of the best value camps in the Delta area and offers a fantastic variety of activities with a good standard of guiding and hosting.
Besides the day-time drives which can feature Africa’s big attractions – lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe – guests at Khwai Tented Camp are able to explore nature after sunset with a night drive. This activity, along with the guided walking safaris, is not usually permitted in the National Parks or Game reserves, and allows guests to get an up close and personal experience with some of Africa’s nocturnal and / or more elusive animals.
Accommodation is in 7 classic Meru style tents, a very authentic safari is to be had here and the only down side is that it is so popular due to the value for the experience that it can frequently be difficult to get space.
