This is a fantastic and authentic tented camp, it is a mobile camp that moves twice a year, offering a good standard of accommodation in prime locations of both northern and southern Serengeti. The standard of guiding here is great and when used in combination with its sister properties makes a wonderful Tanzania safari.
Kimondo Migration Camp pays tribute to an age when merchants from North Africa crossed the Serengeti on camels to trade ivory and spices along the East Coast. The mobile camp constructed of wood and canvas reflects traditional safari style with a Moroccan accent – simple, elegant and totally at home in this unspoilt landscape. Rich, handwoven rugs line the floors in the mess tent, where burnished copper lanterns glow into the night. Dinner is served either in the dining tent or under the African night sky. Afterwards, trade stories of the day’s sightings beside the crackling campfire.
It is part of a group of camps in the Serengeti varying in the level of luxury but also including Olivers in Tarangire and Kwihala in Ruaha. We think it works very well as part of a larger circuit and unless you are looking for a higher level of luxury then this is a really great option for those looking for an unforgettable safari experience.
