Possibly the most remote area in Namibia, the Kunene River forms a natural border with Angola and offers some scenery that is almost our of this world. This luxury little camp sits in a wonderful spot overlooking this impressive vista. Being 100% solar run is one of the things that really sets this apart, the camp tries to have as little impact on the environment as possible while offering the highest standards of accommodation and service.
This area is home to the Himba and the tribes in this area are still living in a very traditional manner making it the best place in Namibia to find out how this fascinating group of people have made a life off of their land that can seem to us almost completely uninhabitable.
Okahirongo River Camp offers somewhere in between the top camp in the area (Serra Cafema) and the lower end more rustic camps in the region, for this reason it can be combined in a number of itineraries and is great for a luxury stop on a more adventurous journey.
