Snapshot : A brilliant walking safari for true walking enthusiasts, brilliant guides, good camps and great wildlife. This really is a superb itinerary for those looking to get out and do something a little different with their time in Africa but still be able to see some great wildlife and enjoy that true safari experience.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Kafue
Arrive in Lusaka where you will be met and driven to the Kafue, the drive takes about 5 hours on good roads and gives you an opportunity to see some of Zambia. Here you will stay at Musekese camp, a new operation that gives you a really authentic experience spend 2 nights here.
Day 2 – Kafue
At Musekese Camp you will spend your time getting to know the park, you can drive, walk and go on boat trips.
Day 3 – Busanga, Kafue
This morning you will move from Musekese main camp to Ntemwa Busanga Camp, located in one of the best places in the Kafue. This is a very classic mobile experience with comfortable tents, because of the nature of this safari and the quality of the guiding it is, in our view, one of the best experiences in Africa. You will spend the next 3 nights in this spectacular little camp.
Day 4 and 5 – Busanga, Kafue
Today you will walk out from the mobile camp into some of the most pristine wilderness in the whole of Africa. On foot you get to experience the park in a way unlike any other.
Day 6 – Kafue
Today you will head back to Musekese camp for 1 final night in the Kafue.
Day 7 – South Luangwa
A bit of an early start and a big travel day today, you will return to Lusaka for your flight to Mfuwe. On arrival you will be met by your guide and transfered to Kuyenda Camp for the next 2 nights.
Day 8 – South Luangwa
The Bushcamp Company are one of the best walking safari companies in the South Luangwa, Kuyenda is run by the legendary Phil Berry, one of the longest serving guides in the country and one of the people responsible for developing the modern walking safari.
Day 9 and 10 – South Luangwa
You will spend these days at Chamilandu camp, a brilliantly rustic camp located in the more southerly sector of the park where there are few other vehicles and plenty of perfect walking terrain.
Day 11
Today you will be transfered back to Mfuwe airport for your flight to Lusaka where you will connect with your onward travel arrangements.

All pricing is given as a guideline, as all our itineraries are tailor made actual costs will depend on dates, passengers and exchange rates as well as any alterations to the itinerary.

POSSIBLE EXTENSIONS
- Lake Malawi “beach” extension – There are a few options of places to stay but by far the best is the idyllic Kaya Mawa on Likoma Island.
- Victoria Falls – If you fancy winding down for a couple of days after safari then this is a good option, as a bonus you get to see one of the seven wonders of the world!
- More safari…. – If you are looking for more safari then this itinerary would be easily extended with a stay in the Lower Zambezi to make a circuit of the top three parks in the country.
