This is one of the Selous’ and Africa’s most well respected camps. With just 8 open fronted stone and thatched panoramic cottages, this is a true legend among safari enthusiasts. Sleeping in an open room gives you a total feeling of being immersed in Africa, the sounds, the smell, the breeze all making for an incredible lullaby after a day of exploring the bush.
There are 5 ‘standard’ cottages and 3 hillside suites, the suites have an additional living space and a plunge pool. The main area is completely open and has a very nice feel
Sand Rivers is well known for its excellent standard of guiding, walks, drives and boating are all available here as well as fly camping and fishing. We love the fly camping and walking here and while it is one of the more expensive camps we deal with, on this occasion, you get what you pay for…
Another advantage of this camp is that it is slightly removed from the busier Eastern gate of the park but still in a very good area for wildlife, something which makes a big difference for those looking to get good sightings without the crowds.
