Owned and operated by John and Carol Coppinger Remote Africa Safaris are one of the few independent companies left in this area, we really like that this is the case and it is clear that the family put their heart and sole into running friendly, professional and overall outstanding safaris.
Accommodation at all four camps is simple yet very pleasing and the focus is squarely on being part of the wilderness that surrounds you. All three South Luangwa camps are in areas with few other tourists, Tafika is located just out side the Nsefu Sector, a beautiful wedge of the park on the Eastern bank of the Luangwa river, while the Chikoko Trail camps lie on the Western side of the river.
Sister camps Chikoko Tree and Crocodile River camps make up the Chikoko Trail walking safari for those looking to combing Tafika in a longer, walking focussed itinerary of the South Luangwa. These three camps combined offer the most remote itinerary possible in this National Park (excluding mobile camps).
Alternatively, for a change of pace and a new environment you can combine Tafika with Mwaleshi camp in North Luangwa National Park, which has even fewer tourists and even more wilderness….! Check out the Remote Walking Safari itinerary for this combination.
