Offering a colonial European style in beautiful African countryside, The Manor is based on Cape-Dutch architecture and is a beautiful property. Set in on a picturesque coffee estate there are 10 cottages, each split into two semi detached suites with own verandah. Offering fantastic service, food and a lovely relaxing surroundings, for those looking for something a bit different this is a really cool option.
The overall feeling is more of a luxury boutique property that a safari camp but that doesn’t stop us from liking it just as much as some of the camps. We would tend suggest that you stay two nights at The Manor, firstly so that you get time to experience all the lovely food and secondly, because of its position in the Karatu highlands it is a good base to reach both the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara.
This is definitely one of the most luxurious options in the region, the nearest competition for those looking for this standard of competition is Crater Lodge, which has a brilliant location but a price tag that we really struggle to justify for most travellers.
