Where to spend winter

If, like us, you are not much of a fan of the long winter nights and the northern hemisphere cold especially in January and February then you will be starting to plan your winter getaways….thankfully there are some fantastic places to go in Africa during this time. Below are a couple of ideas to get you thinking, but as always get in touch and let us put something together for you.

Tanzania
January and February in Tanzania is a great time, it is when the migration is in the South of the Serengeti ecosystem and also when the Wildebeest will start having their calves so there is new life everywhere and lots of action.

Check out this great Serengeti and beach combination, it makes such an awesome escape from our short grey days.

South Africa
With a Mediterranean type of climate, Cape Town and the winelands is one of our favourite trips to make during our winter. With clear skies, beaches to explore and great food and wine to be consumed…what more can you ask for from a winter getaway.

Kenya
While the migration might be a long way south in the Serengeti, this is still a great time to visit the Masai Mara, it is quieter than many other times of the year, has some great weather and the abundant resident wildlife. Because it is easier to find some quiet spots at this time of year it is one of our favourite times to be in the Masai Mara.

All of the itineraries that we put together are tailored to suite you, we encourage you to have a look around our site to get some inspiration and then get in touch and let us construct your perfect trip for this winter.
