Kids aged under 10 years old

South Africa is a fantastic destination for families with younger children, there are a number of malaria free safari areas and there are a large number of other things to do in order to keep everyone entertained and to create great memories.

This itinerary is incredible value, starting in the fantastic Cape Town you have some time to explore, there is lots to do in the Cape area for older and younger visitors, you can explore independently or on specific excursions. You will then head to the stunning winelands for a bit of relaxation and family time in gorgeous setting of a world class vineyard in your own little cottage. As a climax to your trip you will finish in a malaria free private game reserve for a few nights of unforgettable safari.

Kids aged 10 to 15 years old

For those with children in this middle bracket there are more options in terms of safari, children are old enough to take anti malarial medication and of an age where more traditional safari locations and safari style will be appreciated, one of our favourite parts of Africa for families with children of this ages is East Africa (Kenya and Tanzania), this is because there are some great accommodation options with guides that are great with children and these destinations can easily be combined with some beach time.

This Kenya Safari and beach itinerary is a great introduction to safari for a family combining one of the continents most iconic safari destinations, the Masai Mara, in your own safari house with a private villa in the glorious Kenya coast.

Kids aged 15 years old and above

Children over the age of 15 are generally able to participate in all safari activities in every safari destination, this opens up all possibilities to your family so that we are able to construct any itinerary out that is achievable to suit you. With older children it is possible to spend a bit more time on safari really getting to know a country, its wildlife and its ecosystem.

This brilliant family safari for families with older children utilises two private properties, each with their own swimming pool, private guide and a variety of activities to keep you interested, including; game drives, walking safaris, boating safaris, fishing and canoe safaris. A beach element can be added to this itinerary either on the shores of Lake Malawi or by connecting through Johannesburg, alternatively a stay at the iconic Victoria Falls may be a nice addition.
