Snapshot: This is fantastic itinerary is definitely the one to pick if you want a broad overview of all Botswana’s must see areas, perfect for those who do not expect to return to explore in more depth.
This itinerary is based on ‘Standard’ accommodation and is available using a range of different properties.
Day 1 – Livingstone
On arrival into Livingstone Airport, you will be met and transferred by shared road transfer to Waterberry Lodge, where you will spend the next 2 nights at one of our favourite properties on the Zambian side of the falls.
This afternoon there will be the opportunity for you to visit The Falls, an incredible spectacle and a fantastic experience.
Day 2 – Livingstone
Today you will have a full day to explore Victoria Falls area. There are activities in this area to suit everyone, from scenic helicopter flights over the falls and sundowner cruises along the Zambezi to white water rafting and bungee jumping. Some of the activities are best pre-booked to avoid disappointment but some can be arranged on arrival, we will talk you through the options when putting together your itinerary.
In-house activities include a tour of falls, sunset cruise, daytime cruise, fishing, island picnics, guided birding, guided village walk and guided tour of the town and local markets – two of these activities are included per day.
Day 3 – Chobe National Park
Today you will be picked up and transferred by road to Chobe National Park (Via Kasane) to Chobe Elephant Camp Located high on the edge of a rocky ridge overlooking the famous Chobe River. Spend the following 2 nights at this uniquely designed lodge which has been built to take advantage of the incredible views overlooking the sweeping floodplains while offering a comfortable refuge after the days activities.
Day 4 – Chobe National Park
With a variety of activities that include viewing the regions spectacular wildlife from open safari vehicles, by boat on the Chobe River or experiencing life in the village, a visit to Chobe Elephant Camp offers a wide range of experiences.
Day 5 – Okavango Delta
Following a morning activity (time permitting) and breakfast, you will be transferred to Kasane airport for your onward air transfer to Kwara Camp where you will stay for the next 2 nights. Kwara is situated on a private concession on the edge of the permanent waters of the world renowned Okavango Delta in Botswana, which shares a common boundary with Moremi Game Reserve.
Day 6 – Okavango Delta
The area offers a combination of permanent water, seasonal floodplains and pans, open grasslands as well as extensive dry bush and scrub which creates a great game viewing destination throughout the year. Kwara offers some of the best value of any camp in the Delta and has the services and game viewing to back it up.
Day 7 – Okavango Delta
After an early morning activity (time permitting) and breakfast, you will be transferred to Pom Pom Camp by light aircraft, where you will stay for 2 nights. Pom Pom is located in the heart of the Okavango Delta in a private concession to the west of the Moremi Game Reserve.
Day 8 – Okavango Delta
Activities included in this delta paradise are game drives, night drives, walking safaris, boating (seasonal) and mokoro excursions all taken with local expert guides. This is another gem of a property combining great value with good guiding and general standards. It combines well with Kwara in the dry season as Pom Pom offers a more wet activity orientated experience to Kwara’s dry experiences.
Day 9 – Nxai Pan
Following the morning activity (time permitting) and breakfast, you will be transferred to Nxai Pan Camp by light aircraft. Situated in the tree line, Nxai Pan Camp consists of 8 custom-built rooms (including 1 family room), this is a wonderful little property and you will spend the following 2 nights here.
Nxai Pan National Park lies just north of the Maun-Nata road and adjoins Makgadikgadi Pans National Park on its northern border. The vast Makgadikgadi Pans are the last evidence of a prehistoric super lake that was once found here, and today it is a one of the last true wilderness areas left in Africa.
Day 10 – Nxai Pan
Nxai Pan is well known for its huge springbok population and once the rains have started, gemsbok, elephant and zebras migrate to the region. At this time zebras come in their thousands to drop their young at Nxai Pan. These large herds of zebra, springbok and wildebeest attract many predators – lion, cheetah, jackal and both spotted and the elusive brown hyena, as well as the endangered wild dog and the secretive leopard.
Day 11
To day your adventure will come to an end and you will fly to Maun for your onward arrangements.
